About me

I’m Hayden George , a landscape artist based in Christchurch, New Zealand working primarily with oil paints. My work is inspired by the beauty of the natural world, from stunning coasts, massive mountains to a simple still water and open land. Through each painting I hope not only to show off my skills but also make you take a step back and appreciate a stunning scene

Much of my work is drawn from both real places I have been to and from what I have created in my imagination,shaped by memory, emotion and the visuals I can think of in my mind. Combined that with my skills and love for my art and the process behind it I put it all on a canvas to watch what happens and surprise myself every time. I’m less concerned with depicting exact locations, and more interested in creating scenes that feel familiar, timeless, and quietly reflective and just plain pretty!
